JANE ARCHER is an award-winning graphic designer and illustrator with many years of book publishing experience. She has designed in various marketing and packaging roles in-house for Doubleday Broadway Books/Random House and for clients Clarkson Potter, Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Knopf Doubleday, Hyperion Books, Little Brown, Sterling/Barnes and Noble, Sourcebooks, Clinton Kelly Inc., and more. She teaches art to elementary age students at Brooklyn Design Lab, and she is an instructor of illustration at Pratt Institute.
Jane recently launched OUR NYC, a floor puzzle map for kids that she art directed, designed, illustrated, and lettered. She is also the creator of p.s. bella by jane archer, a stationery and gift line for Potter Style/Random House that sold all over the world; archived site here. Her art can be found in Clinton Kelly’s Freaking Fabulous books, Kristi Yamaguchi’s New York Times bestselling children’s books, The BAP Handbook, as well as a host of others. In 2014, Jane received the New York Book Show award for her illustrative design, lettering and full package design for Oz: The Complete Collection.
In addition to her book, branding, illustration, and instruction work, Jane also partakes in frequent volunteer arts outreach here and abroad. She enjoys serving as director for the The Inkwell Foundation, a non-profit group of volunteer artists that provides free drawing sessions to local children and families facing illness and hardship. In 2011, she spent a month in Brazil volunteer teaching art and english to children in a favela school, where she recorded her experience in daily illustrations. She later shared these graphic chronicles in her own show at the Brooklyn Design Lab.
